ULYSSES – Eunice L. Comer, 79, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, at her home in Ulysses.
She was born Jan. 7, 1931, to William Kenton and Iris Lorea (Allmon) Blakesley in Satanta.
She married Lloyd B. Hubbard Oct. 22, 1949.
She then married Robert Eugene Comer Nov. 10, 1972. He died Jan. 29, 2004.
She was a homemaker and owned the Spudnut Shop for many years.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Rebekah Lodge, both of Ulysses.
Survivors include two sons, Randall Hubbard and wife, Glynis, Winfield, and Lonnie Lee Comer, Dallas; one step son, Thomas Comer and wife, Sandra, Henderson, Texas; three daughters, Ronda Widener and husband, Jimmy, Liberal, DeEtta Kooken and husband, L.G., Ulysses, and Katherine Cowdrey and husband, Ron, Wichita; one stepdaughter, Lanna Childers and husband, Dale, Ulysses; one brother, Thane Blakesley and wife, Zetah, Ulysses; one sister, Judith Ann Clifft and husband, Gene, Stuart, Okla.; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one stepson, Rickey Comer; one step daughter, Samma Wise; two brothers, Robert Kenton Blakesley and Lloyd Keith Blakesley; and one great-great-granddaughter, Madison Verdeman.
o Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Ulysses with Pastor Ken Carthlidge presiding.
Private family burial will be at the Ulysses Cemetery.
Friends may sign the register from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Grant County Funeral Home.
