HUGOTON – Simone Cecelia Norton, 61, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She was born Nov. 18, 1955 to Loyd and Cecelia (Smith) Thomas in Bell Gardens, California.
She married Daniel Lee Norton March 17, 1973 in Las Vegas. He survives.
She attended school in Beaver, Oklahoma and Palo Verde High School in Blythe, California, where she graduated.
She was close to God, her family and friends.
She was very proud of her family and enjoyed spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren, hearing about all their accomplishments, and supporting them in any way she could.
She was known for having a selfless heart and was always there for others, helping them however they needed.
She enjoyed sewing and watching movies.
Survivors also include sons, Daniel Lee Norton, Jr. and wife, Gail, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Justin Wayne Norton and wife, Cheryl, New Castle, Colorado; brothers, Terry Thomas and wife, Shirley, Durant, Oklahoma, and Rick Owens, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
• Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, at the Assembly of God Church in Hugoton with Pastor Ben Coats presiding.
Burial will follow at the Hugoton Cemetery in Hugoton.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Garnand Funeral Home in Hugoton with the family present.
