RICHARDSON, Texas – Donald Paul Weaver, 87, died Sept. 26, 2010, in Richardson, Texas.
He was born March 17, 1923, to John and Hazel Weaver in Johnsonville, Ill.
He was a graduate of Meade High School and Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
He married Ruth Bogle Dec. 31, 1964.
He was a farmer.
He was a veteran and served in the Navy during World War II from 1943-1946. He was a second lieutenant and served in the Pacific Theater. Aboard the U.S.S. Newberry, he was involved in the battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa. After the war ended, he served as captain of the U.S.S. Wakulla.
He was a member of the Highland Oaks Church of Christ of Dallas.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Lyndal and Kristi Weaver, Richardson, Texas; one stepson, Leonard Bogle, Middletown, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Dianne Sheetz, Minneola; two grandchildren, Lyndsey and Chase Weaver; four step grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; two nieces, Esta Bucher, Lark Hallum; and one nephew, Mark Gillen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, and his sister, Mary Josserand.
o Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary Chapel, Meade.
Memorials are suggested to the Beam Senior Citizen Center in Meade in care of the funeral home.
