ELKHART – Lloyd Edmund Haar, 82, died Sunday, March 19, 2017 at BSA Hospital in Amarillo, Texas. 

He was born Oct. 13, 1934 to Willie and Bessie (Simmons) Haar in Texas County, Oklahoma. 

He married JoAnne Warner Nov. 28, 1954. She survives.

He graduated from Elkhart High School in 1953. He attended Panhandle A&M College for a short time.  

He spent many years serving on church and school boards, and was also a Sunday school teacher. 

He enjoyed watching the children and grandchildren competing in sports. 

His passion was his cow-calf operation that he was actively involved in for many years. 

Survivors also include son, William “Bill” Haar and wife, Rhonda, Elkhart, and their children, Ryan and wife, Sarah, (Maddux, Ella and Hannah), Eric and wife, Bethany, (Emmy, Aubrey and Avery); three daughters: Cathy Hines and husband Billy Wayne, Elkhart and their children, Bryce and wife, Ellie, (Kreed and Krew, Cody and wife, Mamie, Cade and Kenna), Kim Makeever and husband, Mark, Weatherford, Texas and their children, Corey and wife, Brooke, (Adley, Mandy Makeever and Amber Makeever) and Lisa Crabtree and husband, Doak, Stratford, Texas and their children, Casey Crabtree, Kristen Crabtree Mann and husband, Charlie, and Hallie; and brother-in-law, Glenn Brewer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Selma Haar Brewer; and father and mother-in-law, Virgil and Catherine Warner.

• Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Church of the Nazarene in Elkhart with Pastor Keith Davis and Pastor Terrell Giddens presiding. 

Burial will follow at the Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart. 

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart. 

Memorials are suggested to Open Door Wednesday Night Ministries at the Church of the Nazarene in Elkhart, or Student Mobilization, the college campus ministry of grandson, Corey Makeever at the University of Central Oklahoma Edmond, Oklahoma (please leave the memo blank) in care of Garnand Funeral Home, PO Box 854, Elkhart, KS 67950.
