HOOKER, Okla. – Evelyn Gaynor “Penn” McKinley, 79, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, at her home.
She was born July 10, 1931, to William Wallace II and Martha Esther Clark Simmons in White Deer, Texas.
She married Stanley McKinley Dec. 29, 1950. He survives.
She attended school in both White Deer and Celina, Texas, until her senior year when she attended Hooker High School graduating with the class of 1949.
She worked at Hooker Hardware and then the Panoma Gas Plant.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hooker, Okla.
She was an oil painter who enjoyed landscapes and still-life. She quilted, sewed and enjoyed various arts and crafts and reading. She was a home decorator.
Other survivors include two sons, Neal McKinley and wife, Katy, Hooker, Okla., and Mack McKinley and partner, Timothy A. Wilson, Debary, Fla.; three daughters, Valerie Hill and husband, Kendall, Kemmerer, Wyo., Janeane McKinley, Hooker, Tammy Wilson and husband, Tim, Bartlesville, Okla.; one sister, Jenelle Hill and husband, Ralph D., Hooker; 10 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Julie Broderdorp.
o Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Hooker with Brother Jim Roebuck and Matt Richardson presiding.
Private burial will be at the Hooker Cemetery.
