HOOKER, Okla. – Bob Jacobs, 86, died Monday, April 10, 2017 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
He was born Aug. 21, 1930 to Chester Henry and Helen Holzrichter Jacobs south of Hooker, Oklahoma.
He married Lola Jean Witt March 30, 1951 on the farm north of Hooker, Oklahoma. She survives.
He attended school in Adams, Oklahoma, and graduated from Hooker High School with the Class of 1950.
He worked for Tri-County Electric and at the Witt Dairy.
He also worked for Matt’s Furniture, Landreth Meat Locker and Hooker Equity during the time that the new elevator was built.
He worked as a herdsman for the Teel Dairy, and later became a meat cutter for Flynt Grocery for seven years.
He worked at the Hooker Lumber Company which he did for eleven years until it closed.
He worked for the City of Hooker at the landfill until he was 80.
He as a member of the United Methodist Church in Hooker, Oklahoma
He enjoyed woodworking, making many items for family and friends.
Survivors also include son, Gary of Granite City, Illinois; four daughters: Elaine and Mark Hill, Hooker, Oklahoma, Yvonne Mathis, Stillwater, Oklahoma, Mira and Mike Maskill, Kansas City, Missouri, and Barbara Yowell, Hugoton; sister, Bonnie and Ray Webb, Wright, Wyoming; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Cary; grandson, Casey Dean Maskill; and two sons-in-law, Jeff Yowell and Bryan Mathis.
• Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 14, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Hooker, Oklahoma with the Rev. Craig Denslow presiding.
Burial will take place at the Hooker Cemetery in Hooker, Oklahoma.
