ELKHART – Freda J. Murray Tucker, 91, died Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart.
She was born Aug. 21, 1925, to Glenn and Susie (Shrauner) Fowler at home near Elkhart.
She married John Hershal Murray March 25, 1945, in Elkhart. He died in 2005.
She then married Carl Dean Tucker in 2007. He died in 2014.
She graduated from Elkhart High School.
The couple owned and operated a dairy farm in Wellington.
She was a member of the Chuch of the Nazarene in Elkhart and the United Methodist Church in Elkhart.
They enjoyed square dancing and camping and belonged to camping clubs. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, interior decorating, and was an avid reader.
Survivors include her son, John Murray and wife, Mary, Wellington; daughter, Brenda Erker and husband, Ed, West End, North Carolina; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Jeannie Murray and husband, Rod Lewellen, Wellington.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, William Russell Murray; granddaughter, Nevaeh Erker; and brothers, Keith Fowler, Kenneth Fowler and Lynn Fowler.
o Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Elkhart, with Pastor Shella Choi presiding.
Burial will follow at the Elkhart Cemetery.
Friends may call 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart.
