Melissa “Mel” Chaffin, 42, died Friday, April 7, 2017 in Wichita.
She was born Jan. 1, 1975, to Frank Spencer and Rosemarie (Marchitto) Stacy in Hamilton, Bermuda.
She married Christopher Chaffin Oct. 7, 2004, in Las Vegas. He survives.
She attended school at South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard, Washington. She obtained her associates degree in accounting in San Angelo, Texas.
After the birth of her daughter, she became a stay at home mom.
She was an active member of the CPOA Wives and the Ombudsman Programs. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, traveling, the outdoors and her dogs.
She is also survived by her father, Frank Specncer and wife, Delvina, Verdigris, Oklahoma; mother, Rosemarie Stacy and husband, Mike, Poulsbo, Washington; daughter, Savannah K. Chaffin, Liberal; step-daughter, Breanna Chaffin, Belfair, Washington; two granddaughters, Lilliann Chaffin and Olivia White, Belfair; stepsister and stepbrother, Monika Stacy and Steffen Stacy, Poulsbo; and many aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Andre Yob.
o There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Miller Mortuary Chapel with Dr. Jack Jacob presiding.
