Jose “Jody” Guadalupe Flores, 80, died Tuesday, April 11, 2017, in Coffeyville.
He was born Jan. 30, 1937, to Alfonso and Geneiva (Ulibarri) Flores in Arkalon.
He married Euola Reynolds March 16, 1963, in Clayton, New Mexico. She survives.
He served in the United States Army from 1955-1958 where he served as a sergeant. He worked with the Rock Island Railroad. Jody began working as a truck driver and worked for Groendyke Trucking then going to work for Yellow Freight Trucking in 1967, from which he retired from in 1994 after 37 years of service. While working with Yellow Freight he received two One Million Mile safety awards for his safe driving.
He was a member of Teamsters Union and the St. Anthony's Catholic of Liberal.
He enjoyed playing the steel guitar and bass, spending time with his kids and grandkids, camping and fishing and working on race cars.
He is also survived by two daughters, Angela Campbell and husband, Rex, Liberal, LaDawna Jo Garcia, Liberal; five grandkids, Tyler L. Langley, three brothers. Dicky Flores, Claude Flores and Butch Kneeland; four sisters, Ida Lara, Rosella Arellano, Teresa Humphrey and Melinda Campuzano; Elena Calleja, Rocky L. Flores, Ricky Garcia and Ross Garcia; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Annette Dawn Flores; two brothers, one sister, one niece; and one nephew.
o Viewing will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, at Miller Mortuary, Liberal.
Rosary Service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony of Padau Catholic Church in Liberal.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Father James P. Dieker presiding.
Burial will follow at the Liberal Cemetery.
