SUBLETTE – Phinola Schmidt, 94, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at Satanta District Hospital.
She was botn Jan. 9, 1914, to John Byron and Laura Amanda (Anderson) Wright in Palestine, Texas.
She married Clarence David Schmidt Aug. 4, 1942, in Sublette. He died Oct. 21, 1997.
She taught school and was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene of Sublette.
She enjoyed reading.
Survivors include one son, Duane C. Schmidt and wife, Ruth Ann, Valparaiso, Ind.; three daughters, Twila Stapleton, Wichita, Clarice Slaven and husband, Stan, Sublette, and Saralyn
Brown and husband, Allen, Yorba Linda, Calif.; one brother, Robert Wright and wife, Doris Jean, Colorado Springs, Colo.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Edmund Wright, and one sister, Maude Anthony.
o Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of the Nazarene in Sublette with the Rev. Duane C. Schmidt presiding.
Burial will be at the Banner Cemetery in Sublette.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Haskell County Funeral Home.
