Arraignments for a father and son accused of allegedly beating a man were once again postponed Friday.
District Judge Kim Schroeder set arraignment dates for Eliseo Avila Sr., 46, and Alexander Avila-Ortiz, 20, for Oct. 29.
Appeals of a preliminary hearing which took place in August were filed by defense attorneys, and Friday, Schroeder said he had not received transcripts from that hearing until Friday morning, saying the Oct. 29 date would give him time to review the nearly 180 pages of documents from the hearing.
The arraignment will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29, in Seward County District Court.
Avila and Avila-Ortiz were arrested March 29 for allegedly beating Anthony Martinez, 20, during an altercation in the 100 block of West Hickory in Liberal.
