Margaret Irene Flummerfelt, 97, died Friday, July 7, 2017, at St. Charles Hospital in Prineville, Ore.

She was born Aug. 27, 1919 to Maggie (Anderson) and Christian Peter Kiistner in Kearney County. 

She married Ross Edward Flummerfelt in 1938 in Ulysses. He preceded her in death in 1986. 

She graduated from Ulysses High School in 1937. 

She worked at the Hugoton Medical Clinic as a doctor's assistant for Dr. Fredric & LeNeve & Dentist, and for Dr. Harper from 1955 to1988.

She was an avid fisherman, she enjoyed reading, and also was a China painter.

She was an active member of The Order of Eastern Star in Hugoton, and was an active member of the Hugoton Christian Church. After her retirement she enjoyed touring with a senior travel group.

Survivors include James Edward Flummerfelt and Mary Ellen Cochran; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

• Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Prineville Funeral Home in Prineville, Ore. 

Memorials are suggested to the  Marvin Cochran Scholarship Fund.
