Robert Herschal Lynch, 90, died Thursday, July 6, 2017 in Stillwater, Okla. 

He was born May 25, 1927 to Alvie and Jessie (Haun) Lynch in Wellston, Okla. 

He married Mary Lee Todd on April 24, 1949. She preceded him in death.

He was a graduate of Stillwater High School and Pittsburg State University where he obtained instructor/teaching certificates. 

He served in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman during WWII at the Oakland Naval Hospital in Oakland, Calif.  

After the war, he worked as a carpenter and home builder and a carpentry instructor at the Liberal Area Vocational Technical School in Liberal.  

He was a member of VICA, Toastmasters Pancake Campers, the Stillwater Church of Christ, the Western Avenue Church of Christ in Liberal, and Ripley Church of Christ. He served as an Elder, Deacon and Church Bus Minister. 

Survivors include daughters, Roberta Booth, Cushing, Okla., and Michele Hazzard, Edmond, Okla.; sister, Lois Cavin, Ramona, Okla.; seven grandchildren: Jason (Lisa) Hazzard, Denise Tully, Jeremy Hazzard, Justin (Megan) Hazzard, Danielle (Elijah) Salinas, Jessie (Jared) Cook, and James (Elizabeth) Hazzard; and 10 great-grandchildren.  

He was also preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; six sisters; and one son-in-law.

• Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Strode Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater, Okla. with Rodney Holcomb presiding. 

Burial will follow at Rossville Cemetery in Rossville, Okla.

Friends may call at Strode Funeral Home from until Saturday, July 15.
