35-year-old Juan Carlos Hernandez Acevedo is wanted for attempted murder with a vehicle

Customs and Border Patrol officers working at Bridge of the Americas in El Paso, Texas, took custody of a man wanted on an outstanding attempted murder warrant in Liberal. The apprehension occurred at 8:37 p.m. Monday at the pedestrian crossing. 
CBP officers were performing inspections when a man applied for entry. CBP officers scanned the entry document the man presented and received notification that the person had an active warrant. CBP officers took custody of the man and continued their exam. 
The inspection then revealed that the person was being sought by the Liberal Police Department on an attempted murder warrant. CBP officers arrested 35-year-old Juan Carlos Hernandez Acevedo, a resident of Chihuahua City, Chihuahua, Mexico. He was turned over to the El Paso Police Department and booked into the El Paso County Jail where he is currently detained and awaiting extradition.
