PLAINS – Evelyn Ruth DePriest, 92, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010, at Meade District Hospital.
She was born Oct. 22, 1912, to Clyde and Minnie Francis (Groomer) Sweany in Tribune.
She married Donald Harrison July 22, 1935, in Cassville, Mo. He died Oct. 24, 1994.
She worked for Southwestern Bell before the office closed. After working in the Meade office, she then transferred to the Liberal office working there until her retirement.
She was a member of the Christian Church.
She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by one son, Tony D. DePriest, Guymon, Okla.; two daughters, Rosella R. Brooks, Childress, Texas, and Barbara A. Malone, Plains; two sisters, Tiny Weber of New Mexico, and Jeanne Dillow, Pueblo, Colo.; 17 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded death by her parents; two brothers, James Sweany and Dean Sweany; and two sisters, Katherin Ingram and Anna Sweany.
o Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary Chapel of Meade, with the Rev. Steve Morgan presiding.
Burial will be at the Copeland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Meade Church of Christ or the Copeland Cemetery Fund in care of the funeral home.
