Obituary


JOHNSON – Leo Whipple, 72, died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017 at Stanton County Long Term Care Unit in Johnson. 

He was born Oct. 9, 1944 to Earl and Irma (Becker) Whipple in Syracuse. 

He attended Stanton County schools and graduated high school in 1962. He later earned a Master’s degree in business administration from Wichita State University and worked in banks in Chicago and Denver. 

In 1979, he returned to Stanton County to farm. 

He enjoyed thunderstorms and football. 

Survivors include sister, Judy Whipple, Johnson.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Joe Whipple.

• Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017 at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson with Pastor Carl Kissell presiding. 

Memorials are suggested to the Polymyositis Research Association in care of Garnand Funeral Home, PO Box 715, Johnson, Kansas 67855.
