Verizon Wireless is proud to participate as a sponsor of Liberal High School’s football season to give back to the community and support today’s youth. Statistics show that kids who are involved in sports while in high school are more likely to experience academic success and graduate— and Verizon Wireless wants to help teens build a positive sense of self and teamwork. The wireless company will donate between $1,000 and $10,000 to benefit participating high school athletic programs as part of its Text-To-Win contest.
“We see this as a win-win for everyone involved,” said Brendan Fallis, president, Kansas/Missouri Region, Verizon Wireless. “Students work together for the benefit of their school, the school’s athletic program gets a financial boost and Verizon Wireless benefits by helping keep our future leaders on a path toward success.”
The promotion asks students to text their school code to 66861 before or after school hours. The code for Liberal High School is LHS. Each student can vote (or text) up to 100 times during the contest. Students can track how their school is doing by visiting www.vzwrules.com/highschool. Each high school will receive $1,000 for participating in the program and the four schools with the most votes will each be awarded $10,000 to be presented during a football game halftime.
The promotion runs through Nov. 4. Voters are also entered in a drawing to win a Samsung Reality phone and a $50 Verizon Wireless gift card.
