MEADE – Nadene Rexford, 91, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at Meade District Hospital.
She was born Feb. 23, 1919, to Carl and Mabel Hannah (Smith) Dowell in Rolla.
She married Chester Rexford June 14, 1938, in Ness City. He survives.
She attended the Cave Grade School in rural Ensign. She later attended Ensign High School, graduating in 1937.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Meade.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, working crossword puzzles, baking and spending time with her family and friends.
Other survivors include one son, Ray Rexford, rural Montezuma; one daughter, Wilda Beth Acoya, Santa Fe, N.M.; six brothers, Leroy Dowell, Wayne Dowell, Kenneth Dowell, Bob Dowell, all of Georgia, Billy Dowell, Dodge City, and Lawrence Dowell, Ulysses; two sisters, Ruth Smith, Sacramento, Calif., and Leon Bettis, Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Floyd Dowell; and one sister, Bonnie Johnson.
o Funeral services were at 2 p.m. today at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary Chapel of Meade, with the Rev. Susan Greene presiding.
Interment was at the Graceland Cemetery in Meade.
Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church of Meade in care of the funeral home.
