Tyrone Bobcats bounce Balko Bison, 46-0 PDF Print E-mail

The Tyrone Bobcats exploded for 30 second quarter points on their way to a mercy rule 46-0 win over district rival Balko.

The Bobcat defense dominated, holding the Bison to just 32 yards of total offense. Meanwhile Tyrone averaged 9 yards per play on offense.

Jonathan Corrales led the Bobcats rushing attack with 103 yards and and three touchdowns on just 6 carries. Brian Holley added 52 yards on six carries, and Antonio Pacheco carried the ball eight times for 50 yards and two touchdowns.

Corrales got Tyrone on the board first with a six yard TD run. Brian Holley completed the two-point pass to Adrian Lopez to make the score 8-0 with 7:40 left in the first quarter.

Corrales scored his second TD with 8:53 left in the first half with a 51 yard run. Holley ran in the conversion to put the Bobcats up 16-0. Just over two minutes later Pacheco scored his first of the game from 11 yards out to make the score 22-0. Corrales' third touchdown came on a 30 yard run with 2:07 left in the half, followed by a Holley conversion run to put the Bobcats up 30-0.

Just 12 seconds of clock time went off the clock between touchdowns at Pacheco scored his second from 10 yards out with 1:55 still left in the half. Pacheco ran in the conversion to make the score 38-0 at the half.

Early in the third Matthew Clancy tackled a Balko ballcarrier in the endzone for the safety, putting Tyrone up, 40-0. Then with 9:22 left in the third backup quarterback Chance Duty hit Alex Landeverde for a 25 yard touchdown pass to end the game by mercy rule.

Tyrone now stands at 1-0 in district play and 3-0 overall. Tyrone will face a much bigger test this Friday as they travel to Sharon-Mutual, a battle of top-ten teams.
