ULYSSES – Jack Rayford Kincaid, 70, died Monday, Oct. 30, 2017 at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses.  

He was born April 1, 1947 to Albert Carl Jr. and Thelma Chrysteen (Ray) Kincaid in Liberty, Texas. 

He married Janice Elaine Swanson Oct. 7, 1967, in Barnsdall, Okla. She survives.

He graduated from Barnsdall High School in 1965. After high school, he graduated from Spartan School of Aeronautics.  

He served as an E6 Staff Sergeant in the U. S. Army Reserve for six years and was stationed in Bartlesville, Okla.  

He worked for Cities Service Gas Company, which later became The Williams Company in Newton, Hesston, Garnett, Blackwell, Okla., and then Ulysses.  He retired from The Williams Company with 33 years total service.  

After retirement, he owned and operated Shakers Liquor Store, and was chief inspector for QIS Inspection Services in numerous states. 

Survivors also include son, Chris Kincaid and wife, Gay, Ulysses; daughter, Heather Troutman and husband, Shaun, Woodland Park, Colo.; brother, Hubert Carl Kincaid and wife, Glenda, Port Barre, La.; sisters, Beverly Ann Clark, Lafayette, La., and Cynthia Sue Elwell, Youngsville, La.; four grandchildren: Anthony Dalton Kincaid, Ulysses, Tylan Danielle Kincaid, Lawrence, Landin Reid Troutman, Woodland Park, Colo., and Ellison Lyn Troutman, Woodland Park, Colo.; two step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Mykaylah Kincaid, and Maci (Bob) Kincaid; one step-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

 Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017 with Pastor Martin Witt officiating at Ethel Reese Cemetery in Barnsdall, Okla., with military rites.  

There will be a Celebration of Life service at a later date.  

Visitation will be Thursday, November 2, 2017, from 2 to 8 p.m. with family present 3 to 5 p.m. at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. 

Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS  67880.
