The Seward County Lady Saints jumped out to a 9-2 lead Saturday afternoon against Hesston and never looked back, cruising to an 84-45 win in the season opener.

By halftime, Seward had a 39-17 lead, and the score continued to lean in favor of the Lady Saints in the second half.

The Lady Saints connected on 11 three-point shots in the game and attempted 47.

Vanessa Caro came off the bench to score 12 points, all threes.

Vilma Colvane also scored 12 points off the bench.

Mollie Mounsey led the Lady Saints with 15 points, and Lexi Hernandez added 11.

The Lady Saints will face Frank Phillips College at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the final pre-conference tune-up.

The Jayhawk Conference will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday when the Hutchinson Lady Blue Dragons come to the Greenhouse.
