ULYSSES – Peggy Tarbet, 91, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2018 at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses.  

She was born April 19, 1926 to Floyd and Bessie (Richardson) Bangs in Grant County. 

She married Howard “Brick” Tarbet on March 3, 1946, in Garden City. He preceded her in death in 2003.

After graduating from Grant County Rural High School, she was a teller at Grant County Bank.  

She worked as the bookkeeper for Tarbet Construction Company for many years.  

She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers in her flower beds.

Survivors include sons, Joe Tarbet, Ulysses, and Steve Tarbet and wife, Carol, Ulysses; three grandchildren: Melissa Tarbet, Chanute, Matt Tarbet and wife Jo Angela, Ulysses, and Michael Tarbet and wife, Amanda, Ulysses; and eight great-grandchildren.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings: Merle Bangs, Jane Eddie, and Helen Foresman.

 Memorial services will take place at a later date.   

Memorials are suggested to the Grant County Senior Center in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS  67880.
