Karen P. Hess, 76, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2018 at Pioneer Manor in Hugoton.  

She was born Dec. 12, 1941 to Raymond and Marjorie (Leakey) Floyd in Hugoton.  

She graduated from Spearman High School in Spearman, Texas in 1959. She then attended the Amarillo School of Cosmetology.  

She married John Hess April 13, 1966, in Muskogee, Okla. He survives. 

She attended Lone Star Friends Church.  

Survivors include son, Jerry Miller, Guymon, Okla.; daughter, Karen Jo Miller, Tyrone, Okla.; stepdaughters, Cindy Hess, Waxahachie, Texas, and Joanette Roybol and husband, Tony, Ennis, Texas; brother, Scott Holmes, El Rino, Okla.; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents.

 Cremation has taken place.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018 at the Lone Star Friends Church, with Pastor Gary Damron presiding.  

Memorials are suggested to Operation Smile in care of Brenneman Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd St., Liberal, KS  67901.
