There will be a wide variety of topics to cover for the second meeting of the new USD 480 school board at its next meeting Monday evening starting at 6:30.

Up first for the board will be discussion of the AliO maintenance renewal.

“AliO is the financial software used by USD 480 and the annual maintenance agreement expires on March 31,” the agenda information noted. “The cost last year was $23,033.21. USD 480 had Weidenhammer start hosting the financial software last year to allow updates and backups to be done on a regular basis.  The cost of the AliO hosting is $10,075.98. Besides the hosting fee, there is an increase of $691.01 compared to last year.  The total cost is $33,800.20 for the time frame of April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2019. This will be brought back at the first board meeting in February for approval.”

The board will also be asked to appoint Superintendent Renae Hickert, Director of Business Jerry Clay and USD 480 employee Amy Zimmerman to the Health Insurance Committee for the Board of Education. This committee is responsible for looking at the Tobacco Cessation Program, the Tria Health – Chronic Health Management, telemedicine, and an on-site health clinic.

The board will also be asked to approve the purchase of two 2018 51-passenger FreightLiner activity buses and also list two 2010 44-passenger Thomas Built activity buses on the Purple Wave auction site. A transportation agreement between USD 259 and USD 480 will also be up for discussion as well as teacher recruitment incentives.

The internet bandwidth for USD 480 will also be up for discussion.

“The bandwidth will be increased to 2X2GB,” the agenda information noted. “The Instructional Technology Committee chose to accept SWKO’s bid to increase the band width. Factors that the ITC focused on were history, service and reliability.”
