Obituary


Carrie Sue Cannon, 63, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2018 at Via Christi Hospital St. Francis in Wichita.

She was born July 27, 1954 to Lonnie Dale and Dixie Jean Frazier Cannon in Ottawa. 

She attended school in Liberal, then in Tyrone, Okla., where she graduated from Tyrone High School with the Class of 1972. She then attended Northwestern State University in Alva, Okla., and then transferred to OSU in Stillwater, Okla. 

She began work for Beech Aircraft in Liberal and in 1987 continued her work for Beech in Wichita. She retired after 30 years of service in 2007.

She was a member of the Tyrone Baptist Church and was past president of the Beech Employees Club. 

She was an avid OU fan. 

She was a very giving person, helping the Humane Society in Wichita and the Wounded Warrior Project. 

She enjoyed bowling and traveling which she did with friends at Beech all over America and overseas including Puerto Rico and St. Thomas. 

Survivors include her father; sisters, Jeannie Padilla, Guymon, Okla., and Becky Tovar, Wichita; three nieces; six nephews; and many grand-nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Dixie; and brothers, Craig and Bill.

 Funeral services took place Monday, Feb. 5, 2018 at the Tyrone Baptist Church in Tyrone, Okla. with Rev. Charlie Sappington presiding. 

Burial took place at the Tyrone Cemetery in Tyrone, Okla.

Memorials are suggested to the Tyrone Cemetery or the Sedgwick County Humane Society or the Wounded Warrior Project and may be left at Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, Oklahoma, 73945.
