JOHNSON – Ronald Kay Kendrick, 83, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, at Parker Adventist Hospital in Parker, Colo. 

He was born Sept. 20, 1934 to Elmer (Roundie) and Arlyn (Bender) Kendrick in Wichita. 

He married Barbara Houf June 23, 1957 in Colorado Springs. She survives.

He graduated from Kansas University with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering. 

He operated the John Deere dealership in Johnson and was a lifelong farmer.  

He also earned his commercial pilot’s license and had single-engine, multi-engine, and instrument ratings. 

He was the scoutmaster for Troop 145 for 17 years, and was an active member and Charter President of the Stanton County Jaycees and the Stanton County Chamber of Commerce. 

He also served on the Johnson City Council, Stanton County Hospital Board, and the Stanton County Airport Board.

Survivors also include three sons: Mark and wife, Amie Kendrick, Colby, Gary and wife, Brenda, Johnson, and Bret and wife, Robyn, Johnson; daughters, Julie Brincks, Melcher, Iowa, and Lyn Finnegan and husband, Greg, Parker, Colo.; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

• Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2018  at the Fields Memorial Wesleyan Church in Johnson with Pastor Kurt Rovenstine presiding. 

Burial will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson. 

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018 at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson.
