The Seward County Clerk’s office is looking to purchase new voting equipment this year, and county clerk and election official Stacia Long is looking for the public’s help in deciding which equipment would best suit the needs of the county.

“There are currently three certified election system vendors in the state of Kansas, and all have been invited to participate in a public demonstration on their newest, state of the art voting systems,” Long said in a press release.

Seward County, she said, is slated to purchase all new voting equipment in 2018.

“The public is invited to attend and participate in this selection process by utilizing the voting systems providing their feedback,” she said.

The demonstration will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 15 in the commission chambers in the Seward County Administration Building at 515 N. Washington in Liberal.

“This is an opportunity for members of the public to help decide which voting system will best service the voters of Seward County,” Long said.
