Joyce Willems-Blankenship, 81, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018.

She was born Jan. 23, 1937 to Emma Ratzlaff-Willems and Aaron Willems in McPherson. 

She married John Blankenship in 1957. He preceded her in death.

She worked as a book keeper during the last forty years of her employment in Topeka.

She was known for being a devoted mother and grandmother, putting her family first always. 

She was president of resident counsel and was a member of the bell choir at the Liberal Good Samaritan Center.

Survivors include five children: Larry Blankenship and wife, Ann, Hooker, Okla., Mike Blankenship, Liberal, Sheila Webb, Topeka, Steven Blankenship, Topeka, and Janet Harkness and husband, Randy, Hooker, Okla.; sister, Janice Stone and husband, Clarence, Topeka; five grandchildren: Michael Blankenship and wife, Jess, Cory Blankenship, Ian Blankenship, Kristi Blankenship, and Ashley Webb; and great-grandchildren, Cameron Blankenship and Lily Salamanca. 

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and brother, John Willems.
