Seward County K-State Research and Extension and the Kansas Forest Service is hosting a meeting Tuesday, March 20, on wildfire protection.

The meeting will start at 6 p.m., with district forester John Klempa talking about defending yourself and your property from fire damage.

Klempa and others will show those in attendance how to be prepared and make informed decisions to prevent wildfire damage to homes, farmsteads, livestock and equipment.

Experts will likewise cover topics such as natural versus invasive landcover, brush management practices and homeowner fire prevention.

“As many of you know, Southwest Kansas is on heightened awareness for the extreme wildfire danger,” Seward County Extension Agent Kylee Harrison said. “Now is the time to take precautions to protect your property.”

To RSVP for the meeting, call the Extension office at 620-624-5604.
