HOOKER, Okla. – The annual Friend of the Olive Warner Memorial Library Holiday Tour of Homes in Hooker is scheduled from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, when the homes of Joe and Linda Oliver, 204 N. Lorenz Dr.; Arvel White, 603 N. Lorenz St.; Matt and Pamela Richardson, 103 N. Memorial; and Brian and Jackie Robertson, just west of town, will be open for area residents to visit.
The Friends group appreciates the willingness of local residents to share their hospitality and warmth of homes decorated for Christmas.
Those who attend will be able to purchase the $5 ticket and register for door prizes at any of the homes. Also included on the tour, but free to all, will be Carrie Belle’s Antiques, owned by Dale and Julia White and located in downtown Hooker.
Joe and Linda have recently moved into their new five-bedroom home which features a three-quarters basement. Jackie’s mother, Joan Fisk, of Dalhart, Texas, and friend, Beverly Beeman, of Athens, Texas, will be assisting her in decorating her home from top to bottom. At least five western theme trees will be featured with lots of lighting both inside and out. Directions to the house start at the stop sign on Les White Blvd. Turn right about 1/4 mile and then left to the only home there.
ArVel has redecorated since the last time she was on the tour and also added a tree featuring a complete set of White House ornaments inherited from her aunt, Marian Laubhan.
Pamela collects snowmen and the Richardson home will feature six trees and two Christmas villages, including one from Williamsburg, Pa.
Those visiting the homes and store may register for many door prizes including a selection of books and cds from the library, a three-volume set of Hooker history books from the Friends group, Avon baskets from Robbie Blackwelder, a gift from the Hooker Advance and two poinsettias from Linda’s Flowers and Gifts.
Make plans to attend this enjoyable holiday tour and help raise funds for library projects.
