SATANTA – Arlin Glen Alexander, 78, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010, at Garden Valley Retirement Village Inc. in Garden City.

He was born June 23, 1932, to Arthur E. and Susie M. (Dean) Alexander in Garden City.

He married Betty Fae Avara Aug. 6, 1950, in LaJunta, Colo. She survives.

He was a farmer and rancher.

He was a member of Peasant Prairie Church of God of Satanta.

He was a member of Soil Conservation, the Farmer of the Year in Grant County, a 4-H leader and a member of Tractor Safety.

Other survivors include two sons, Larry Alexander, Satanta, and David Irvin and wife, Kim, Ulysses; four daughters, Nancy Ferris and husband, Ron, Hutchinson, Becky Sanders and husband, Cliff, Oklahoma City, Debbie Hartsell and husband, Steve, Hartsville, S.C., and Gina Timmons and husband, Terry, Sunray, Texas; two brothers, Mervin Alexander and wife, Sarah, Nevada, Mo., and Duane Alexander and wife, Linda, Ulysses; one sister, Susan Helsel and husband, Richard, Dexter; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, David Alexander and Dale Alexander; two brothers, Scotty Alexander and Claude Alexander; and two sisters, Marilyn Elmore and Karen Hall.

o Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Prairie Church of God in Satanta with ministers Lloyd Bowen, Cliff Sanders and Steve Hartsell presiding.

Burial will be at the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Thursday at Haskell County Funeral Home.
