MONTEZUMA – Ray A. Rexford, 67, died Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, at his rural residence in Montezuma.
He was born March 28, 1943, to Chester and Nadene (Dowell) Rexford in Dodge City.
He married Melva Jones Dec. 20, 1966, in Johnson.
He attended the Mertilla Grade School before attending Montezuma High School. He graduated in 1961. He later attended Fort Hays State University. He graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology in 1966. During his college years he belonged to Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity and received his flight training.
He was a farmer in Gray County.
He enjoyed many things in life, including, flying, fishing, hunting, water skiing, sky diving and drag racing.
Survivors include his father, Chester Rexford, Montezuma; one son, Ondre Rexford, Concord, N.C.; and one sister, Beth Acoya, Santa Fe, N.M.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Nadene Rexford.
o Celebration of Life services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary in Meade.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at the Graceland Cemetery in Meade.
