Elkhart – Jeanne F. Daniels, 90, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart.
She was born May 21, 1920, to George L. and Grace Inez (Cox) Hayward in Rolla.
She married J.W. “Cap” Daniels Nov. 17, 1939, in Fowler. He preceded her in death.
She graduated from Rolla High School and attended one semester of college at Kansas State University.
She was a homemaker and businesswomen. She was also the former co-owner of the First State Bank in Elkhart. Shee completed pilots training and obtained her pilot’s license.
She was a member of the First Church of God, Elkhart Chamber of Commerce, Elkhart Ambassadors, Morton County Hospital Auxiliary, V.F.W. Post No. 3162, lifetime member of the ESA Sorority and Chit-Chat Club, and a past member of the United Methodist Church, where she played the organ.
She enjoyed playing the piano and organ, painting, knitting, ceramics, gardening, traveling and camping in her RV and spending time with her family and animals.
She is survived by two daughters, Marsha Hinch and husband, Charles, Choteau, Mont., Mona Daniels-Murray and husband, Larry, Daniels-Murray, Lenexa; one brother, Jack W. Hayward and wife, Helene, Canyon, Texas; two grandchildren, Kimberly Jo Hinch and Jason Robert Hinch; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister-in-law, Della Hayward, Parks, Neb.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Gerald Hayward, and one granddaughter, Kara Jeanne Hinch.
o Funeral service were at 2 p.m. today at First Church of God in Elkhart with the Rev. Gary Murrell presiding.
Burial followed at Elkhart Cemetery.
