DILLARD D. GRANT
Turpin, Okla. – Dillard D. Grant, 74, died Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, at Southwest Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 30, 1933, to Robert E. and Edith M. Deaton Grant in Texas County, Okla.
He married Janice A. Skeen Oct. 20, 1955, in Raton, N.M. She survives.
He graduated from Eureka High School in Baker, Okla.
He worked in the oilfield for more than 53 years, 10 years at NLS, Rainbo Services for 43 years retiring as district manger in 2005. He worked for the past three years at DISCO.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed welding, woodworking and working with old clocks.
Other survivors include two sons, David Grant and wife, Bridget, Moore, Okla., Jeffrey Grant and companion, Sheila, Baker; one daughter, Terresa Wages and husband, Rick, Mooreland, Okla.; one brother, Robert Grant, Liberal; five sisters, Bobbie Lundberg and husband, Charles, Fannie Russell, Ola Howie and husband, Herb, all of Liberal, Nine Laudendale, Athens, Ga., and Gladys Reese, Manzanola, Colo.; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Donald, James and Chester Grant.
o Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Church, with the Rev. Dr. Jack Russell presiding.
Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church or to the American Diabetes Assoc. in care of the mortuary.
