The Liberal Lady Redskins freshmen traveled to Sublette for a tournament Monday and dropped the opening game to Sublette, 36-16.

Amanda Collins and Alexandra Jones each scored four points to lead the Lady Redskins in the loss.

Martha Ramirez, Desirae Courkamp and Ramey Petty each scored two points in the loss.

Both teams struggled early. After the first quarter Sublette had a

4-3 lead.

The game was still competitive at half with the Lady Redskins only trailing by two, 10-8.

But Sublette opened up the scoring in the second half.

Liberal only managed four points in the third while the Lady Larks scored 16. Sublette put in 10 more points in the fourth while the Lady Redskins scored three points.

The freshmen girls will face Garden City at 4 p.m. today.
