A Kansas City man was taken to Southwest Medical Center Sunday about noon when he was injured after his vehicle went off the road and hit a fence post.
According to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, Dominic Hernandez, 25, was eastbound around 11:30 a.m. on U. S. Highway 54 about six miles east of Liberal when he veered left of center and then swerved back into his lane and ended up entering the eastbound ditch. His 1992 GEO then struck a fence post and overturned in a wheat field south of the highway, His vehicle landed on its wheels facing south.
Hernandez was taken to Southwest Medical Center, but his injuries were not severe, as he was treated and released, according to a hospital spokesman.
Hernandez was not wearing his seat belt, the report noted.
