Monday, 31 January 2011 12:25

Crews from Liberal, Baker, Okla., and Turpin, Okla., all responded to a controlled burn that got out of control Saturday afternoon off County Road 4 in Beaver County. Several old cars caught fire, and responders wanted to keep the blaze away from a nearby oil well and storage tanks. Water support was provided by Baker. A Beaver County officer said there were no injuries, but one ambulance was dispatched as a precautionary measure. Beaver County and Oklahoma state troopers also responded. Crews battled the fire for several hours. Photo courtesy Lori Emmert
