ABOVE: Feb. 6-12 is SkillsUSA Week, recognizing students, teachers and industry who are working together to ensure America has a skilled work force. SkillsUSA helps each student excel. Seward County Community College/Area Technical School students David Winkler, Brandon Bruner and Caleb Crawford sport their new Carhart SkillsUSA state officer jackets. The jackets were donated by Carhart. Winkler, of Plains, is the state treasurer, district and vice president. He is in the Diesel Technology program. Bruner, of Hooker, Okla., is the state parliamentarian, district historian and local secretary. He is in Diesel Technology and the new Natural Gas Compressor Technology program. Crawford, of Texhoma, Okla., is the state vice president and district and local reporter. He is in the Auto Mechanics program. The photos were taken in the new Natural Gas Compression Technology shop. February is also Career and Technical Education Month. RIGHT: Ray Nolin of TransAm Trucking, Olathe, spoke to students in the Truck Driving program about future jobs. The next six-week Trucking program is Feb. 28 through April 8.
