Incumbent Dave Harrison is running for a second term on the city commission

• Leader & Times
The City of Liberal’s mill levy has not been raised in four years, and Dave Harrison would like the entity to continue to operate at a level that keeps the levy at its current amount.
Harrision is running for his second term on the city commission, and in addition to keeping the city in a strong financial position, the incumbent also wants to work on quality of life issues “when funds to do so are available.”
“One of the main reasons I am running is I like public service,” he said. “I enjoy trying to help solve the problems that arise in our community and enjoy working with city staff to do the best job we can for our citizens.”
As Liberal moves foward in the next decade, Harrison sees a community that continues to cultivate its resources, particularly agriculture, wind, water, oil and gas.
“We have these things to offer, and I think you will see in the near future things happening involving these resources,” he said. “I think our retail areas will grow and believe Liberal can and will land at least one big box retail store. I see a community that works together to clean up our city and make this the city of choice to live, work and play.”
