A Meade man died Sunday morning when his vehicle crashed into a creek bed.
Clayton Redd Johannsen, 26, was driving a 1989 Chevy pickup southbound on Meade County Road 15 around 9:20 a.m. Sunday, when, according to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, his truck traveled across the roadway into the east ditch. The pickup then went over a bridge embankment and crashed into a creek bed.
He was taken to Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary in Meade. He was also not wearing his safety restraint, according to the report.
