The Southwestern Heights Lady Mustangs jumped to No. 5 in the final Class 3A Kansas Basketball Coaches Association coaches poll released Monday.
Jefferson County North is No. 1 in Class 3A, while Holcomb is No. 8.
In Class 2A, Cimarron is ranked No. 2, Satanta is No. 7 in 1A Div. 1, Colby No. 3 in Class 4A.
On the boys’ side, Dodge City is No. 8 in Class 6A, Scott City No. 1 in 3A, Syracuse is No. 3 and Meade No. 9 in 2A, Ashland No. 5 in 1A Div. 1 and Moscow No. 9 in 1A Div. 2.
Heights wraps up the regular season Thursday at No. 2 (2A) Cimarron.
“They’re good,” Southwestern Heights coach Barry Mellen said. “They’ve lost one game in league. It’s going to be a showdown.”
The Class 3A Sub-state pairings are expected to be released Wednesday and Southwestern Heights is expected to be the top seed.
