The winners of the hovercraft competition at the USD No. 480 Science Fair were first place, Riley Jones, Britton Abbott, Lorenzo Pando, Maurico Neal and Elmer Quintana, second place, Dylan Sandell, Denney Ourn, Lynka Phan, Adrian Amado and Rafael Lopez, and third place, Thomas Benson, Megan Campbell, Jared Hall, Emmanuel Garcia and Binh Vo.
Cindy Hoang and Yubisela Toledo compete in the Alka Seltzer challenge Wednesday afternoon at the USD No. 480 District Science Fair in the Seward County Ag Building with the experiment “Pink Tomato.” Liberal High School science teacher Melissa Westeman estimated that about 300 students participated in the engineering portion of the fair, and another 300 competed in the other events, making for approximately 600 students altogether.
