HOISINGTON, Kan. — The Southwestern Heights Mustangs ended their season on Tuesday night on the road, falling to Hoisington 74-57 in the opening round of the Class 3A Sub-State playoffs.
Southwestern Heights ends its season at 5-14 overall.
Hoisington advances to take on Holcomb, 63-58 winners over Lakin. The game will take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Larned.
Jr. Herrera led Heights with 16 points.
In other 3A Sub-State action, Scott City beat Larned 66-29 and Goodland beat Thomas More Prep 55-47. Scott City and Goodland play at 6 p.m. Friday in Larned.
The 3A Sub-State championship will take place at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Larned.
On the Girls’ side, the Southwestern Heights Lady Mustangs play Larned at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Larned in the 3A Sub-State semifinals.
The other semifinal features Holcomb against Thomas More Prep Thursday at 6 p.m.
The winners will play for the 3A Sub-State championship and a trip to state at 6 p.m. Saturday in Larned.
