At 10:22 Friday morning, the Liberal Fire Department was called to 607 W. First in regards to a house full of smoke. According to Deputy Fire Chief Skeety Poulton, firefighters were on the scene at 10:26 and finally left the scene at 11:55 a.m.  “Upon arrival we weren’t initially able to locate the source of the smoke, but after investigation and talking to occupant, he said he had been having some electrical problems,” Poulton said. “So, eventually through our thermal imager we were able to locate an area giving signatures of heat. The crews started pulling off some siding and found an area down low on the  frame that had actually been charred and was still actively smoking at that point. The fire was basically out, but was still smouldering.” Poulton said the cause of the fire is undetermined at this time. He added there were no injuries, and the home sustained only very minimal damage. L&T photo/Jessica Crawford
