Baby Cakes 2011 arrived on Pancake Day, Tuesday, March 8, at 2:38 p.m., at Southwest Medical Center. The possible future International Racer weighed in at 7 pounds and 13 ounces and was 20 ½ inches long. Her proud and happy parents, Natasha King and Charles Boga of Liberal, named their new bundle of Joy Amiya Marie Boga. She was welcomed home by big sister, Jazmin, age 4. The family was presented with a large gift basket Tuesday from the International Pancake Day Board by Baby Cakes Chairman Jan Nondorf. The committee has been presenting the family of the first baby born on or after Pancake Day with gift items for several years. Among those gifts is an apron and scarf if it is a girl or a chef’s hat if it is a boy. Courtesy photo
