HOOKER, Okla. — The Turpin Cardinals dropped to 5-5 on the season after falling to the Hooker Bulldogs 11-1 and 10-2 on Thursday afternoon at Jack Goosen Field.
“They were the better team,” Turpin head coach Mario Mendoza said. “We split with Laverne, but Laverne beat (Hooker) twice. They’re a good ballclub.”
Javier Alvarez took the loss in game one and Clinton Toney the loss in the second game. Turpin committed a number of errors in both games — six in the second.
Toney and Jake Zielke both went 1-for-2 in the second game.
