ELKHART – Willard “Bill” Brack, 82, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, at his daughter’s home in Leawood.
He was born May 25, 1926, to Benjamin and Susanna Brack in Otis.
He married Ann Novak April 10, 1950, in Colby. She survives.
He graduated from Alexander High School.
He was a veteran of World War II. He worked for the U.S. Bureau of Mines Helium Division until his retirement.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing and carpentry work.
Other survivors include three sons, Ken Brack, Dodge City, Keith Brack and wife, Jonita, Spearville, and Kyle (Bud) Brack and wife, Janet, Dodge City; seven daughters, Kathy Hirschfeld and husband, Ron, Dodge City, Connie Scheck and husband, Dennis, Dodge City, Christy Towle and husband, Dan, Leawood, Karla Crouch and husband, Bret, Casper, Wyo., Karen Porrett and husband, Frank, Garnett, Carolyn Suenram and husband, Ted, McPherson, and Kim Francis and husband, Mark, Rose Hill; 20 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Vernon, Lloyd and Norman.
o Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. today, and the funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, both at the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Elkhart with the Rev. Pascal Klein presiding.
Burial will be at the Elkhart Cemetery with military rites performed by Elkhart VFW No. 3162.
Friends may call until 5 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart.
