After a record setting career that still has not seen the end, Seward County Lady Saints pitcher Sydney Cicchetti has signed her National Letter of Intent to head to Ohio where she will play for the Atlantic-10’s Dayton Flyers next season.
Cicchetti has put together a career record of 42-9 thus far in her two years in Liberal which currently gives her an .824 winning percentage, tops in school history.
She is 23-3 this season while putting up a 1.33 ERA with 197 strikeouts in 169 innings and led the Lady Saints to a second place finish in the Jayhawk West with a 7-1 record in conference play while posting a 77:8 strikeout to walk ratio in the eight games.
She will join a Flyers squad that sits at 20-25 thus far in the 2011 campaign and recently qualified for the A-10 Tournament with an 11-8 conference mark.
Before heading to the Buckeye State, Cicchetti has unfinished business to attend to as she looks to take her Lady Saints to their third straight NJCAA National Tournament with a win in the Region VI Tournament.
