The April 21 fire that occurred at 802 N. Pennsylvania Ave. has been determined as accidental, caused by wiring malfunctions, according to Fire Inspector Cody Regier. Liberal Fire Chief Kelly Kirk added the fire originated in the room adjacent to the room occupied by the resident rescued by the Liberal Fire Department. The home, which provided housing for several families, was so badly damaged, right, that it had to be torn down last Friday, above, Regier said. L&T photos/Jessica Crawford
