After losing a close game over the weekend, the Cardinals pulled off a major upset Tuesday by defeating the first place White Sox 6-1 at Rosel Field.
The Cardinal defense was able to slow down the high-octane Sox to earn the win.
The White Sox avoided an upset bid Saturday with a late rally to defeat the Tigers 6-5, but could not pull off a second rally against the Cardinals.
The Cardinals dropped a close contest Friday to the A’s on a close play at the plate that cored the winning run for the A’s in the bottom of the final inning.
The White Sox are now tied with the A’s for first place with two games remaining on the scheudle for both teams. The two teams do not play each other the rest of the season.
